13 pro tips for attendees

1. Register early to receive the lowest pass pricing

If you haven’t registered yet, discounts on general pass pricing will remain available at Early Bird rates through August 19 and Advanced rates through October 14. This year, we’re also offering new specialty passes. Education, Government, or Non-Profit sector employees can receive an additional $200 off the current rate by registering with an .edu, .gov, or .org email address. Group pass discounts are also available for up to $150 off each pass at the current rate when you register with a group of 3 or more people. The sooner you register, the more you save.

2. Book your accommodation near the action

If you need to book a hotel room for your time in Chicago, Sitecore offers discounted room rates at 6 hotels near the McCormick Place Convention Center starting at $269 a night. Never miss a moment and save on additional T&E costs by staying at these select hotels, most of which are walking distance from the venue. You will need to complete your conference registration to unlock reservation access to our discounted room rates. You’ll find the instructions for booking your hotel on your registration confirmation page. But don’t wait! They’re expected to sell out. Rooms must be booked through Sitecore by September 16 and are subject to availability.

3. Sign up for a pre-conference seminar, certification exam, or exam prep bundle

This year, registrants have access to our largest offering of onsite training seminars, certification exams, and exam prep bundles, provided by our [email protected] team. These are designed for you to be able to apply the latest Sitecore technology in real life, which is especially beneficial if you’re a developer, IT professional, or implementation expert. Training seminars take place on Monday, October 17, so you don’t miss any keynotes or breakout sessions. And exams can be scheduled throughout the conference until it concludes on October 20. We recommend that you sign up early by making your selection when you register. The pre-conference seminars and certifications are subject to availability and start at $150 USD.

4. Don’t miss the limited-time online SYMporium

New this year, we’re opening our online SYMporium for a limited time to give you a chance to pre-purchase super exclusive Sitecore Symposium 2022 swag. Online purchases made through the SYMporium will guarantee you’ll receive the selected items when you check in at the conference as we’ll only have a limited supply of swag available for purchase onsite. Be sure to keep a sharp eye out for when we open the SYMporium in August!

5. Map out your sessions in advance

During the conference, seating for breakout sessions will be first come, first serve. And they do fill up. Ensure that you get a spot in all the sessions you want to attend by reserving your seats ahead of time in our session scheduler. The session scheduler will provide you with the full agenda to view session details and speakers, you’ll be able to favorite sessions, and also add sessions to your calendar. We’ll be launching the session scheduler in September.

6. Arrive in Chicago for the welcome reception

There’s no better way to jumpstart your Symposium experience than by heading to the attendee welcome reception — especially after long travels to Chicago. It’s the perfect way to kick off the conference by meeting and connecting with other attendees from around the globe. The welcome reception will be held in the Solutions Pavilion and will offer complimentary food and beverages for you to enjoy while you expand your network. It’s also a chance to share a memorable #SitecoreSelfie with #SitecoreSYM to be featured on our social wall during the event.

7. Download the mobile app

As part of Sitecore’s commitment to sustainability, we’re designing this year’s mobile app to serve as your one-stop-shop conference guide. You’ll be able view the venue map, explore the event sponsors, view the agenda and make changes to your session scheduler, view the speakers, and play to win prizes. We recommend turning on the mobile app notifications, so you don’t miss a key moment. The mobile app will be available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in September.

8. Catch first-hand stories from Sitecore customers

Our customers are the stars of the show. You don’t want to miss what they have to say about how they Meet Every Moment with Sitecore. Brands that have taken the mic during past Symposium events have included Microsoft, General Mills, L’Oréal, United Airlines, Cirque du Soleil, American Heart Association, and many more. You can catch these powerful first-hand stories sprinkled throughout the conference during keynotes, customer showcases, and partner sessions that feature guest customer speakers. Plus, you won’t want to overlook the big reveal of this year’s Ultimate Experience winning brands when we announce the Sitecore Experience Awards on the main stage.

9. Find the right experts at the Solutions Pavilion

At the core of the conference, the Solutions Pavilion showcases all the event booths in one place for you to connect with implementation and technology experts, watch solution demos, interact with creative activities, sit down for informative theatre sessions, meet Sitecore subject matter experts in the CORE, and much more. It’s the place to be for the welcome reception, happy hour, and in between your sessions. You’ll find complimentary lunch, snacks, and coffee available as well, so you can stay fueled throughout the event.

10. Book 1-on-1 meetings at the Sitecore Guru Garden

A unique section of the CORE, the Sitecore Guru Garden features our team of subject matter experts who will be available by appointment. Schedule time with them so you can come bring your list of solution questions and walk away with the answers you need to be successful. But be aware that appointments often fill up fast. If you already know you want to connect with someone on a specific use case, schedule your appointment ahead of the event in the session scheduler or mobile app available in September.

11. Get social at the Happy Hour

Wind down after a long, non-stop day of sessions on Tuesday, October 18 by heading to the Solutions Pavilion for a complimentary Happy Hour. It’s a perfect time to meet up with your new connections or regroup with your team in a more casual setting over drinks and appetizers. We recommend that you take this time to relax and enjoy some face time with other attendees because the best will have yet to come.

12. Arrive early for the guest keynote

Every year, the Symposium Event Team hand selects a guest keynote speaker or performer, such as multiplatinum artist John Legend, former Netflix CMO Bozoma Saint John, and basketball legend Magic Johnson. When this year’s guest takes the main stage, we recommend you arrive early to claim your spot as close as possible. You never know, you could end up being part of the moment.

13. Don’t miss the exclusive Symposium party

Sitecore Symposium is known for its takeover of unique venues for an exclusive, attendee-only party. At the last in-person conference, we took over Universal Studios in Orlando, with unlimited rides, specialty food, and drinks. This year, we’re busy planning for another big surprise at an iconic Chicago hot spot. On the night of the party, you’ll want to put your computers and backpacks away for an evening of cutting loose. And don’t worry, we’ll have your transportation to the venue covered. Details for the party will be announced in August, so stay tuned!

Bonus pro tip!

For those who love swag and a little friendly competition, we’ll let you in on one more secret about this year’s event. There will be more than one game throughout the conference where you can win exclusive prizes. Be sure to be on the lookout to download the mobile app, so you know when you can start climbing the leaderboard!
