From On-Campus to Online

Like most sectors, the digital disruption seen in the education industry has been led by its customers: students, undergraduates, postgraduates and those undertaking continuing professional development.

As one of Australia’s younger, more dynamic universities, the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) has always been ahead of the curve in offering flexible study options and adopting the latest learning technologies; in fact, of its 28,000 students, over 70% study online and originate from over 90 countries.

With such a distributed student network for which to cater, USQ’s Online Marketing team launched an initiative to create an engagement roadmap, in 2013. For Helen Nolan, Executive Director of Marketing and Student Attraction for USQ, the main objective for this initiative was to improve the online student experience.
