Banner Bank upgrades website to deliver personalized UX, ADA compliance and enhanced analytics
Founded in 1890, Banner Bank has experienced steady growth throughout its history through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions. The purchase of American West Bank in 2015 added 98 branches and expanded the bank’s footprint from its roots in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, to Utah and California.
After the acquisition, the bank took the opportunity to renew the drive to overhaul the bank’s website. The original website was based on SharePoint, making it challenging to integrate new web content. It wasn’t unusual for the site to suffer outages and other issues.
The bank rebuilt its website using the Sitecore® Experience Platform™ (XP) 7.1 and the Microsoft Azure cloud service. The initial migration to Sitecore XP provided real advantages in content management, easier integration of new web content, increased stability, and cost savings through Azure. The site helps Banner Bank personalize users’ experience with a deeper level of engagement with site visitors and improved site analytics.
Future plans include a new site on Sitecore XP Version 9 which will feature multi-factor authentication and IP address restriction to provide enhanced security. The new site will also be WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.0 Level A and AA compliant.
