Project Brief

Mobile. Self-service. 24-hour. Providing intuitive, efficient e-banking platforms is no longer a choice, but a must-have for any bank that wants to remain competitive.

SDC helps small to medium-sized banks across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and the Faroe Islands keep up with their larger competitors by providing the digital platforms that their customers demand. With Sitecore Experience Manager, SDC is able to offer a cost-effective, standardized e-banking platform that’s highly customizable.

Challenge

Meeting demand for online and mobile banking

Owned by the conglomerate of banks that it serves, SDC has more than 800 employees and annual revenues of around 1,780 million DKK. SDC’s goal is to enable effective banking for its 110 member banks and the 2.4 million customers that they serve.

With a large proportion of these customers under the age of 35, providing them with future-proof digital services is absolutely critical. SDC provides its banks with an open banking platform, known as NEoS, that combines online, mobile, and self-service solutions. "With NEoS, we are building a flexible e-banking platform that will assist the banks as they approach the future," said Sille Stener, Senior Vice President at SDC. “We aim to help banks get closer to their customers by replicating traditional relationships through digital channels.”
SDC requires a scalable, efficient approach to delivering its centralized digital platforms and a customizable solution that allows banks to differentiate from the competition.

Solution

Customizing e-banking platforms with Sitecore

SDC is using Sitecore Experience Manager as a fundamental part of its NEoS platform. The content management system enables banks to manage their own content on the platform in a simple and intuitive way.

“With Sitecore Experience Manager, our banks can localize, personalize, and differentiate their offerings,” commented Stener. “They can add relevant articles or links, so their website is no longer purely transactional for customers to view or manage their accounts, but also a source of information and a valuable marketing tool.”

Once a bank is set up on SDC’s core banking platform, it takes just 20 hours for the SDC team to set them up on NeOS and Sitecore Experience Manager, thanks to automated processes. This maximizes efficiency at SDC and simplifies onboarding of both existing and new banks.

TESTIMONIAL

“Even smaller banks can offer the same level of digital service as much larger competitors with our NEoS platform and Sitecore. This will help them thrive and grow in today’s digital world, and in turn contributes to SDC’s success.”

— Sille Stener, Senior Vice President, SDC
