Bringing the showroom experience online
Jonastone needed to offer an online experience that matched or even surpassed its in-store experience. Product presentation had to be supported by contextual and helpful content on product pages and in cart. Delivery times had to be specific to coincide with build schedules. Getting new products to market quickly was also a crucial requirement. A multilanguage capability was also necessary to serve the company’s pan-European market.
Building a first-class customer experience
Jonastone has consolidated what was six separate domains and content on to a single platform powered by Sitecore Experience Platform (XP) and Sitecore OrderCloud. Working with Sitecore partner Unic, jonastone is now using Sitecore as the foundation of its new website. The marketing team can customize and launch content quickly to all countries while making it easier for IT to test and deploy new features because of Sitecore and its multi-language capability.
Next steps will see greater use of Sitecore to deliver more advanced personalization. Already, jonastone has started to use email automation to contact customers who order samples, offering them useful and related information on the tiles they selected. Features such as directing interested customers to the request samples function has helped increase sales, while relevant, associated content is presented on a single subpage. The website, its content, services, e-commerce and even load times have been optimized for mobile devices. The website, which now attracts 200,000 visits a month, has also been rolled out to jonastone’s key European markets of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and Belgium.

Jonastone now has an inspirational, colorful, and highly visual website, packed with a host of features that makes it quick and easy for customers to find, buy, install, and care for the products they want to purchase. Customers can access innovative features like automatic laying accessories calculation, localized language, extensive inspirational video, images, examples, and 360-degree virtual tours. Subpages feature lots of helpful information about stock levels, delivery, ad laying instructions, tools and fixing accessories, and aftercare.
Sitecore Commerce has delivered a 25% revenue increase over three years since launch. It has also reduced time and effort spent on website customization and development by 85% which is key since the business plans to double and even treble its product portfolio. The website’s search engine ranking has improved with 30% better Google performance. On Trusted Shops, a leading European trust brand, jonastone has a near-perfect rating of 4.83 out of 5, calculated from 88% of more than 3,300 customers in one year awarding the experience 5-stars.
