Amsterdam Marketing lays the foundation for the personalization of with Sitecore

In 2014, Amsterdam Marketing chose Sitecore as the platform for its website. The key reason for this decision was the breadth and depth of Sitecore. The organization was looking for a stable and robust platform that could grow and that offered a sufficient degree of user friendliness to manage a large amount of content quickly and effectively.

In the year 2016, with the platform Amsterdam Marketing can now follow the entire customer journey by means of a single platform, from the first visit to the website to an actual action, such as the subscription of the newsletter or purchase of the City Card, which offers a large variety of discounts or free entrance to museums and other highlights that the city has to offer. The next step is further personalization. The foundation has been laid for this with Sitecore 8.1.


The new website has provided plenty of benefits to Marketing Amsterdam over the past years. Since June 2015, the online sale of the City Card has increased by 100 percent. The number of canceled transactions dropped from 95 to 70 percent and 30 percent of the visitors click through to partners, such as museums and businesses. Furthermore, the organization has saved up to forty percent in terms of time in daily site maintenance tasks.
