The last year has been both exciting and inspiring. I joined Sitecore after more than a decade with SAP and was eager for the incredible journey ahead but was mindful of the challenges we all faced during the pandemic. However, the team wasn’t deterred; everyone came together and worked tirelessly to meet and often exceed our goals.
Sitecore has continued to win numerous awards for both our achievements and for being an outstanding place to work. We are trusted by hundreds of new customers as we hone our strategic relationships with the industry’s largest and most accomplished partners. We also made significant inroads in our People Agenda hiring over 1,000 staff globally with office openings in a number of key markets. We hosted our largest-ever Sitecore Symposium and look forward to this year’s event in October. And we were proud to secure an unprecedented $1.2 billion investment as part of our ambitious growth plan and announced that we had acquired Boxever Ltd., Four51, Inc. and Moosend.
Since taking on the CEO role exactly one year ago, it has been an exhilarating privilege to work with and enjoy so many milestone moments like these with such an amazing group of individuals. As Henry Ford once said, “The two most important things in any company do not appear on the balance sheets: its reputation and its people.” That could not be truer at Sitecore, where our reputation is reaching new heights due to the extraordinary contributions of our people. Our people posted quite a track record over the past year despite the ongoing pandemic’s many challenges, achieving tremendous growth, innovation and renewal.
Now I am pleased to mark my one-year anniversary with Sitecore by sharing the news that we have reached a definitive agreement to acquire Reflektion. As an AI-powered digital search platform, Reflektion is trusted by Petco, RiteAid, Ulta Beauty and other top U.S. retailers.
The addition of Reflektion accelerates Sitecore’s SaaS transformation into a composable digital experience platform with best-of-breed solutions that span every facet of content, experience and commerce. This is a particularly important addition to our expanded portfolio given the power of search and the value of meeting consumers at that point in their customer journey. Reflektion will elevate search across every customer touchpoint into a conversational, guided, and tailored experience. This will further Sitecore’s expanded vision to disrupt the market with innovative solutions that turn consumers into fans, bringing them closer to the brands they love while building stronger bonds with those they’ve newly discovered.
Looking ahead to the next 12 months, I feel inspired as I am overcome by the ongoing dedication and determination from the people who have shaped and continue to grow Sitecore. This has been an incredible first year, and I cannot wait for the months and years ahead.
