Our official company name is "Sitecore Corporation A/S", a Danish company with local wholly owned subsidiaries around the world where we conduct business. We are most often referred to as "Sitecore," as this is both our company name and our trademark for goods and services. Sitecore has obtained valuable rights through proper and continuous use of its trademarks. Adherence to these Guidelines will help to maintain the integrity of our brands and preserve their value.
What is a trademark?
A trademark is a word, name, symbol, device, design or phrase adopted and used by Sitecore to identify its goods and services and to distinguish them from the goods and services of others. Trademarks, otherwise known as brands, are usually marked with either a ™ or an ® symbol (a ™ designates an unregistered trademark and an ® designates a registered trademark). Sitecore owns many different trademarks, some of which are listed below. All rights to Sitecore trademarks are reserved.
Sitecore® and Own the Experience® are registered trademarks of Sitecore Corporation A/S in the U.S. and other countries.
Follow the current version of the attached Style Guide for things like using our logo consistently (including with respect to placement, size and clear space) and staying true to our color scheme, preferred typeface, image style and other design elements.
Make sure that you distinguish the Sitecore trademarks from the surrounding text or background so that they stand out.
In all materials displaying a Sitecore trademark, identify Sitecore as the owner of the trademark.
Always use the complete and proper spelling and capitalization of Sitecore trademarks. This means you should not modify our trademarks including by abbreviating them (e.g., “SC”), incorporating them into acronyms, combining or hyphenating them with another word (e.g., “Sitecore-software”), symbol or number, changing their spelling, word sequence or typeface, or using improper capitalization (e.g., “sitecore”).
Use the trademark as an adjective, not as a noun or verb, and never in the plural or possessive form. Appropriate use of the tagline mark includes the following example: “Sitecore is the Own the Experience® brand leading a revolution in customer experiences.”
Provide Sitecore with a sample of your marketing material that contain any Sitecore trademark
Do not, without prior permission, use the Sitecore trademarks.
Do not remove, alter, distort or modify the Sitecore trademarks, including adding other terms to the Sitecore trademarks to create new words.
Do not use the Sitecore trademarks or a confusingly similar mark in a way that falsely implies a relationship or affiliation with, sponsorship, or endorsement by Sitecore Corporation A/S or that can be reasonably interpreted to suggest information comes from, or represents the views or opinions of Sitecore or a Sitecore employee.
Do not link to a work created by Sitecore as your own. Please clearly indicate that the end user is exiting your website and entering a Sitecore website.
Do not use the Sitecore trademarks in a manner that is in Sitecore’s sole opinion misleading, unfair, defamatory, infringing, libelous, disparaging, tarnishing, obscene or otherwise objectionable to Sitecore.
Do not use, register or seek to register (in any jurisdiction) any mark or name that incorporates a Sitecore trademark or that is confusingly similar to a Sitecore trademark. This includes in any company name, product or service name, trademark, domain name, logo, slogan or social media name or handle. Examples of confusingly similar trademarks include misspellings, phonetic equivalents or foreign translations of Sitecore trademarks, or trademarks that rhyme with or sound like a Sitecore trademark.
Do not copy or imitate Sitecore’s trade dress or the “look and feel” of Sitecore webpages, user interfaces, product packaging or other marketing materials. This applies to things like our fonts, color scheme, graphics and other design elements associated with Sitecore. For example, your company webpage should not incorporate design elements of or look similar to one of our Sitecore webpages.
Do not “frame” any Sitecore website, webpage or content. Framing is a form of linking that allows an end user to view a linked webpage within a “frame” in the original website.
Do not, unless expressly permitted in an agreement among you and Sitecore, bid on any Sitecore trademark or any variant or extension thereof as a key word on any Web-based search engine.
Sitecore reserves the right to modify these Guidelines at any time. Sitecore also reserves the right to withdraw permission for or otherwise prohibit your use of the Sitecore trademark if such use does not conform to these Guidelines and other terms we set from time to time. Sitecore will not be liable in relation to any loss or damage caused by modification of these Guidelines.
If you are aware of any usage by any person of our trademarks in violation of these Guidelines, please contact us at email@example.com and let inform us of such usage.
Any use of Sitecore’s trademarks are reserved to Sitecore only except where written permission has been given for a specimen and specific purpose. Sitecore often collaborates with many other brands in issuing press releases, case studies and other forms of marketing collateral.
