The wait is over—we have announced the 2018 Sitecore MVP award winners. The MVP award is an individual award that celebrates and recognizes the Sitecore community and thought leaders. The MVP program, now in its 12th year, has seen tremendous growth around nominations and MVPs in the past few years. Congratulations to all 329 MVPs of 2018! View the entire list of the 2018 MVPs on the MVP website.

MVPs by region

Our 2018 MVP winners come from 31 countries worldwide: 45% from the Americas, 35% from EMEA, and 20% from the Greater Asia region. New countries represented include Hungary, Norway, Ukraine, and Vietnam.

MVPs by categories

For many years we were discussing how to recognize individuals who are important to Sitecore but are not visible to the community—who provide value for the ecosystem by influencing partners, customers, and industry and technical leaders.

We wanted to recognize the person, working for a partner or customer, who works closely with Sitecore—providing product feedback, participating in Sitecore counsels, supplying references/case studies. Someone who has a big influence on Sitecore's execution within his or her company. Therefore, we introduced the Ambassador category.

This year, the Technology MVPs represent 63% of the group, the new Ambassador category got 19%, the Strategy category is 12%, and Commerce is 6%.

Every category of MVPs offers a unique opportunity to tap these experts across all their different skill sets. All MVPs will be invited to every activity; e.g., an Ambassador MVP could join a technical architecture webinar about the latest upcoming Sitecore version, or a Technology MVP could join presentations and discussions about the use of Marketing Analytics. Each MVP category partners with an expert at Sitecore who will host sessions and activities with tailored content.

 Contribution year over year

This year, we have over 100 new MVPs—about one-third of the total group—but we also had to unfortunately say goodbye to some MVPs. Since the award is annual, and we are putting in a huge effort to review the growing number of nominations every year, some MVPs did not have the desired contribution level in 2018. Don’t forget to keep up your contribution!
