Sitecore Appoints Kensaburo Tamura as Area Vice President for Japan

Technology leader tapped to turbocharge Sitecore’s business in Japanese market

Tokyo, February 15 , 2024 – Sitecore®, a global leader in end-to-end digital experience software, today announced it has appointed Kensaburo Tamura as Area Vice President for Japan, tapping the experienced technology leader to help companies accelerate their growth via content, data, and online commerce.

The appointment of Mr. Tamura to lead the Japanese operations for Sitecore will add considerable experience in the technology-based customer experience market and enable businesses to exceed constantly changing experience expectations of customers and citizens across all digital channels. Prior to Sitecore, Mr Tamura worked in the US and Europe as well as overseeing the Japanese operations for several enterprise software vendors such as Cloudera and TIBCO Software.

“In 2022, Sitecore launched XM Cloud, which transformed the firm’s powerful digital experience software solutions into a cutting-edge, always-on SaaS product,” said Kensaburo Tamura, Sitecore Area Vice President, Japan. “We took this offering to the next level by introducing XM Cloud Plus and Sitecore Accelerate to help make it easier than ever before to empower brands to make the shift to SaaS and unlock even greater potential within their marketing technology stacks (MarTech). I am excited to be part of this journey.”

Designed to answer the needs of Sitecore XP customers ready to make their transition to the cloud, XM Cloud Plus is an extended digital-experience solution that brings together content management, AI-powered search, personalization, customer data management and analytics. Sitecore Accelerate supports XM Cloud Plus as a dedicated program to guide Sitecore XM and Sitecore XP customers to either XM Cloud or XM Cloud Plus and XC customers to OrderCloud. Both products were launched earlier this year in October 2023.

In his new role, Mr. Tamura will be responsible for driving the overall sales, strategy and growth for Sitecore in Japan, working closely with technology alliance and implementation partners, and ensuring that the company’s software solutions deliver for businesses. Key to this positioning will be the roll-out of XM Cloud, XM Cloud Plus and Sitecore Accelerate in the region.

“Helping companies make the shift to SaaS as flexible and uncomplicated as possible will be critical for success within the Japanese region,” added Mr. Tamura. “With composable (Headless, Cloud-native, API-first) now being the preferred architecture moving forward for many large enterprises in Japan, Sitecore is well positioned to gain significant market share. I look forward to helping brands leverage the opportunities that composable solutions offer in this market.”

“Kensaburo Tamura is excited about bringing Sitecore's market-leading innovative solutions to businesses in Japan," said Joey Lim, Sitecore President Asia-Pacific and Japan. "We believe that his drive and tenacity will prove contagious for current and future customers in the Japanese market and for current and potential employees eager to work for a visionary brand leading the MarTech industry."
