Pet retail leader scales e-commerce personalization with Sitecore XP and Sitecore Commerce

Pet Supplies Plus were already in a period of rapid growth and had outgrown their legacy website CMS. They needed to be able to provide a personalized experience by location and visitor, and have strong e-commerce capabilities to accommodate onsite pickup and delivery from store.

They finally turned to SXP on Microsoft Azure, with Sitecore Commerce powered by Microsoft Dynamics for ERP integration. With Sitecore xDB Cloud Edition, they achieved a cost-efficient installation of their new platform that reduced capital cost and technology administration.

They’re now able to tailor the customer experience to preferred store location as well as surface product and pricing info for each store. They can personalize content based on self-identified pet type ownership as well as by location info; and with Sitecore’s robust CMS, manage a vast library of education; and a dog food finder.

Future plans include taking advantage of the newly scalable foundation to increase personalization for multiple personas using loyalty program data. Other online transactions including pet services scheduling will focus on physical stores at relevant locations. Overall, the vastly improved online experience aspires to mirror the ‘neighborly feel’ their store locations are known for.
