In a world where brands need to rapidly adapt to ever-changing consumer demands and behaviors, the ability to build scalable, personalized experiences is now key. During an insightful breakout session at Sitecore Symposium 2024, Steve Lamensdorf, SVP Experience, Icreon, and Chru Brar, Digital Platform Director, Acrisure, discussed how the financial technology and insurance company leveraged XM Cloud to create a unified, high-impact website that boosts user engagement and efficiency.
Kicking off the session, Chru Bar, Digital Platform Director, Acrisure shared how the company adopted a “think big, start small,” approach to achieve buy-in for its business case for change. To prove value, they started with a pilot project based on a lower-risk product – flood insurance. This step allowed the team to demonstrate quick wins and establish trust across the business. By starting small and delivering early results, they were able to build the foundation for a broader rollout.
Unified vision with top-down support: Securing leadership buy-in from the start was crucial to success.
Inclusive planning and agile collaboration: Acrisure involved cross-functional teams at the earliest opportunity.
Feedback and recognition to sustain momentum: Creating a feedback loop enabled departments to share insights, raise concerns, and celebrate success.
Acrisure recognized the traditional approach – a slow, hierarchical model with siloed teams and infrequent updates, resulted in rigid processes and delayed changes. By moving to an agile approach, they could drive forward with a collaborative, adaptive model that empowers cross-functional teams with real-time feedback and continuous improvement.
Acrisure’s legacy platform was preventing the company from realizing its goals. The system’s complexity slowed down content updates and was not equipped to scale with the company’s rapid growth.
The monolithic structure limited flexibility and customization, while the dependence on technical resources led to content management bottlenecks.
In addition, the total cost of ownership (TCO) was high, and the legacy platform required resource-intensive maintenance.
By switching to a composable, headless CMS, Acrisure gained the agility to adapt quickly, integrate AI-driven insights, and deliver engaging, seamless experiences across all channels.
