Fragmented growth across 30+ sites
WorldStrides had grown into a global educational travel leader through decades of expansion and acquisition, building a wide portfolio of programs, brands, and digital properties. But that scale came with a fragmented digital estate: more than 30 websites, multiple CRMs, disconnected content systems, duplicated destination and program descriptions, siloed assets, and inconsistent workflows. For teams supporting hundreds of thousands of student journeys a year, every disconnected system made it harder to move quickly and to deliver consistent experiences from research through enrollment.
The business needed to centralize marketing content and assets, and link that content with commerce data for downstream systems, without slowing the organization down or losing control as it scaled globally.
A content model built for every brand
To deliver its Project Unity vision, WorldStrides worked with Verndale to design a composable experience architecture on SitecoreAI and SitecoreAI DAM. SitecoreAI DAM became the operational core for marketing content and digital assets. This core allowed teams to own a shared model for creating, managing, and distributing content across brands, channels, and platforms.
The new headless content model was built around the way WorldStrides works. Teams can structure content once, reuse it where needed, and keep messaging consistent without rebuilding the same program or destination content again and again. Flexible content modeling and tailored authoring workflows help teams move faster while maintaining governance, and API connections keep legacy systems in place so the business could modernize without disruption.
WorldStrides also integrated Google Gemini with SitecoreAI DAM to speed up asset management. Automated image tagging and metadata generation now classify thousands of assets with far less manual effort, turning a slow operational task into a repeatable workflow. A phased rollout, beginning with K-12 and expanding to Higher Education, gave teams room to test and refine the model with confidence.
Ready for every enrollment surge
WorldStrides now has the foundation its scale demands. More than 30 websites operate from one connected ecosystem, giving teams a more governed way to manage content across brands, programs, and markets. Instead of rebuilding the same content in different places or waiting on IT-led updates, marketing teams can respond to business needs in weeks rather than months and keep experiences consistent when demand is highest.
That shift is showing up where it matters most: in stronger engagement, higher conversions, and a platform that holds firm under pressure.
The average session duration rose 60%, views per active user increased 65% year over year, and key conversions, including contact form submissions, registrations, and logins, increased 117%. In Higher Education, key engagement events grew 394% during peak enrollment, while the platform maintained zero downtime through its busiest periods.
For WorldStrides, Project Unity has turned a fragmented digital estate into a platform that can support growth without adding more complexity, from the first search through to enrollment.
