Avanade and Sitecore wanted to find this out when we teamed up with researchers at Vanson Bourne to survey more than 1,400 marketing and IT decision makers in enterprises across industries and around the world. The results revealed some surprising insights:
- Over two-thirds (73%) of executives see a lack of collaboration between marketing and IT.
- Over two-thirds (71%) of executives lack sufficient martech skills in-house.
- Almost two-thirds (61%) of businesses lose revenues due to disconnected martech stacks.
Managing the customer experience pays off
- For every dollar invested in the customer experience, respondents expect a return of three dollars
- Almost six in ten (58%) have seen increased customer satisfaction over the last 12 months
- Close to four in ten (37%) have seen improved sales cycles
- 64% report that competition is a key driver, compared with 52% who point to customer feedback
